Khanh is super talented! I love the turtle so much and am looking forward to see what other art she creates! These would be great as gifts especially housewarming gifts 📷
There was a time working at my old engineering job that I would go home, lay on the couch, roll over to sleep on my bed, and wake up the next day to do it all over again.
I did everything I was supposed to do: good grades, good school, good career, good life.

At the beginning of my engineering career
My parents were proud of me. I was making a lot of money. I was young. I was successful. But I wasn’t happy.
All I wanted to do was art.
I loved painting and dancing and filming.
I loved running around screaming and singing with my friends, and making stupid videos.
Half a year before I was scheduled to move from Washington to California, I was diving into interview prep for other engineering roles.
As I slogged through the beam bending diagrams and thermal dynamic equations, a large container of acrylic paint caught my eye.
It was an unfinished can of this gritty sandy paste used to add texture to paintings.
I thought - wow I loved playing with that texture when I painted.
Letting my mind drift, I wondered what else would be fun to create with that? Maybe - ooo an ocean floor? Like a sandy beach?
What would be the subject? Oh I love painting monochromatic animals lately. A whale? An octopus?
Oh my gosh and I can use the texture of the paste to play with the texture of the animals and the flow of the water in the ocean and blend the background and foreground together —

I adore the textures that came from this paste and how it blended with the acrylic paint.
I looked back at my studying material. Hard straight lines. Rigid diagrams. Unforgiving dynamic equations.
I thought of the back to back interviews I’d have to do. I thought of the multiple rejections I’d have to endure. And the rest of my life trudging through this painful joyless cycle.
What if … a little voice whispered… you just did art full time? Just for a while? Just for forever?
I think the whole universe stopped and exploded when that thought popped up HAHAHA.
Suddenly I felt free and expansive.
Like I was going on this brand new adventure — into the open seas!
To explore this new and exciting territory that few had explored before.
I made this collection to embody the freedom I felt making this decision to change my life, and to share this empowerment with others.
Take home a print as a reminder of your own inner strength and chase your own dreams.

A pitstop on my journey down the Pacific Coast Highway
I chose these animals for the unique ways they adapt to the harshness of the ocean, each with their own strengths and an unspoken self-confidence.
Using bold teal acrylic paint, these creatures emerge & come alive out of the gritty textured canvas, even pulling the sea with it. Like them, we can also embrace our own strength to change our realities to a freer life.
Take home a print to remind yourself of your own inner strength. Let these creatures inspire you to be bold, fierce, and powerful in reclaiming your own freedom.

I want to share my journey and inspire as many people as possible.
We all have the strength to transform our lives, and I'd love to give people that kick-start motivation to get there!
Giving away this collection for free is just a way for me to get that message to more people.
I hope with this free print offer you can take home a piece that will serve as a reminder of your own power.
